A Comprehensive Child Study Team Evaluation (as required to determine an individual student's eligibility for special education. as per regulations NJAC 6A:14) generally includes, but is not limited to an assessment by a certified Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC), a certified School Psychologist, and (optional) a certified School Social Worker
A Comprehensive Child Study Team Evaluation can also be done in Spanish! Our center has a Licensed Spanish speaking School Psychologist and a Certified Spanish speaking Learning Consultant.
A Dyslexia Evaluation focuses on the characteristics associated with dyslexia including the child’s decoding, encoding (spelling), writing, vocabulary, reading comprehension and reading fluency skills. The assessment will examine the child’s phonemic awareness skills and rapid naming skill as well.
Our online learning programs have a track record of success. Our students consistently achieve higher test scores and show significant academic improvement.
For children ages three to five who are experiencing developmental delays, this assessment is completed by a Learning Disability Teacher Consultant and a Speech Language Specialist. This assessment evaluates developmental levels in the areas of cognition, adaptive functioning, speech/language development, fine/gross motor skills, social/behavioral development, and preacademic skills.
Completed by an Occupational Therapist, this evaluation assesses fine motor and visual motor skills such as handwriting and keyboarding. The evaluation consists of standardized and functional assessment as well as a parent interview and clinical observations.
Completed by a School Social Worker, the social evaluation is conducted through an interview with the parents. The interview will address areas such as the child's birth and developmental history as well as identification of specific parents concerns.
Completed by a Speech and Language Therapist, a speech and language evaluation is warranted when the child demonstrates difficulty understanding or using language correctly. Problems could include, but not limited to: stuttering, voice issues or processing verbal information and articulation errors (correct production of speech sounds).
